This latch adds a lot of character to a box. Note however, that you still need a way to lift the lid once the catch is released. Also, I think it works and looks better with the button side on top, although nothing in the instructions on this.

This catch is absolutely beautiful. It gives your project a elegant finished look. The only thing I think that might improve this is if Brusso were to package in a pull or knob of some sort with this catch as you do need to install something. Although even as is it is a beautiful addition to any project.

I bought this latch and the template for installing it for a jewelry box I’m making. This was the first time I’ve used these products, so I did a few test installations on scrap wood. Each time the latch fit perfectly. I routed the mortise on the box, and installed the latch with epoxy. The fit is extremely accurate, and the latch is a clean, attractive addition to the overall look of the box.

Beautiful latch for my project. High quality brass. Would look great in my project but size was to big. I returned for credit after I bought the JB-818 a smaller version.
