Very elegant looking and works flawlessly. Mortising for installatiion was tricky. I rough cut with a half inch straight bit on the router and finished off with carving tools. Patience paid off. It’s beautiful.

After putting a lot of time in building a heirloom keepsake box for my son I found that I was in need of some sort of latch as I wasn’t completely happy with the one I had. I had been so satisfied with Brusso hardware I went to your web sight and found this latch/catch I ordered it and I am sure glad I did. Very simple to install and very elegant and screamed of quality just looking at it.

Looks and functions perfectly. A little awkward to use on the size of the Padauk jewelry box since I can not span the distance between the box side and latch.but this was my error. The latch itself is a beautiful piece of work.

The latch makes my son’s laptop case look beautiful. Didn’t but the routing jig and inlayed it by hand. Easy job. The only problems that I had were: a) The instructions weren’t clear on what kind of adhesive would be adequate for adhering brass to wood. I guessed right…used epoxy and it worked well. b) Although the latch may be strong enough for a jewelry box, if the case-lid has any “back pressure” to it (example…over stuffed case) the latch doesn’t hold very well.

This is a beautiful accent to a hand made jewelry box. Excellent quality and dimensions allow for a perfect fit when using the Brusso mortising router template.

I purchased three of these clasps for jewelry boxes. I cut the recess into the boxes with a metal Mill Drill and a 3/16 carbide end mill.
The Clasp’s fit very good and work excellent, I love the click they make when closing.

This is the first time I have used the JB-818 Latch and I will be using them again. They worked perfectly with the TJ-818 Jig and produced a great look and feel.

Beautiful latch. Best quality I have found to date. Made in USA. Installation requires meticulous care; was not easy, but result was worth my time.
