The L-23 brass offset pivot hinge is employed when a minimum of visible hardware is desired or when the door must swing free of its frame. It is mortised into the top and bottom of the door and frame; only the pivot is visible. The leaf measures 35 mm x 8 mm x 3 mm.

I’ve used Brusso hinges for many years. After several broken brass screws I started using a steel screw to pre-thread the holes. I was happy to see brusso start to supply 1. Why they decided to use a slot headed screw is incomprehensible. The brass screws you supply are inferior and are most likely from India, known for their inconsistent quality. Have you given any thought to a 1/2 round end to the long leg of your hinges? That would help the 90% of your customers who set your hinges using a router bit.

We’ve found that regardless the source of the screw, small brass screws have inherit issues given their small size and the soft nature of brass. These hinges are like little works of jewelry art. They are perfect. I know there have been some concerns about the brass screws being soft. My only comment is that I didn’t find the single slotted steel screw to be helpful — a proper pilot hole is all you need.

The hinge itself is good but the screws are terrible, even the steel one. One of them broke inside so I had to get it out, but in general all the heads were stripped. Yes I predrilled, applied wax, used the right bit and used the steel screw first.
